ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Estate Planning Options in the Face of Today’s Legislative, Inflationary and Interest Rate Environment

Today’s legislative, inflationary and interest rate environment presents clients with planning challenges and concerns.  We will discuss important ways in which life insurance combined with estate planning techniques can effectively address some of these client concerns; and how the current interest rate environment has dramatically shifted which planning strategies may be most favorable in funding irrevocable trusts.  We will also address some planning strategies to consider after the Secure Act and Secure Act 2.0.

Core Learning Objectives:

  • Understand primary client concerns in the current legislative and macroeconomic environment, and how clients can use life insurance planning to address those concerns
  • Review options for how Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (“ILITs”) are funded, and understand how rising interest rates have shifted preferred planning designs for many clients
  • Core planning opportunities with life insurance after the Secure Act and Secure Act 2.0
